Biography
Simone Labarga is a luminary artist, whose dynamic and varied background in dance, acting, and movement has made her an icon in the industry. She was born in Berlin, Germany, and received her professional dance training at the esteemed Ballet Academy Nürnberg, later earning her National Performing Arts Diploma at the S.P.I.D. Dance Academy of Milan, Italy. Simone's incredible talent and unwavering dedication led her to perform in a multitude of original ballet ensemble repertoires and dance for illustrious companies like Living The Dream Dance Company, Weimar 2013, and The Art of Movement, a production choreographed by Billy Cowie in Havana with the Danza Contemporaneo de Cuba. Simone also became a principal dancer of Bricolage Dance Movement Company, touring with their show Story of a Night Pianist across Europe in 2014.
Simone's passion for the art of dance manifested into opening her own Ballet School, Horizon Ballet, in South West London, where she directed and managed it for 5 years, inspiring and educating countless young students in the art of ballet. Her love for dance soon expanded into the world of film, where she began to choreograph and perform in dance short films and music videos, which have now been showcased in numerous dance film festivals worldwide. Simone's commercial work took off, as she became a well-known figure in global brands such as Turkish Airlines, Clear Blue, and Peugeot.
With her flourishing career as a dancer, Simone ventured into the world of acting, continuing her training with legendary coaches like Gary Condes and at the AMAW Acting School in London. Simone's acting career began with appearances in English short films such as 'Til Forever' directed by Michael Flatley, the creator of Lord of the Dance. Additionally, she has acted in feature films like Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Bollywood) and Walking on Sunshine! (Vertigo Film). Simone made her debut in the action-thriller 'RIDE' playing the female lead character 'Clara,' acting alongside Lorenzo Richelmy. She went on to star in the drama feature film 'Homeless Ashes' in 2019, created and directed by Marc Zammit, where she played the character Jess. The film premiered at the prestigious Raindance Film Festival in London in 2019.
Beyond her illustrious career in the performing arts, Simone has developed a deep passion for mindful movement practices. She studied and earned her teacher certification at the world-renowned Body Arts and Science International (BASI) Pilates Academy in London, later obtaining certification in Pre and Post Natal Pilates. After teaching at several premium studios across London, Simone's desire for travel and greater flexibility prompted her to shift her Pilates business online.
Simone's classes are inspired by her personal movement journey, fusing her love for dance and movement while incorporating her technical skills, mindful practice, and creative expression. She aims to empower clients from all walks of life to become stronger, more flexible, and more connected to their bodies, believing that the way we move defines the way we flow through life.
Simone's passion for empowering and inspiring women led her to create a network of co-facilitators and extraordinary specialists that support her community with personal growth. Every year, she curates a series of events in the form of wellbeing retreats, art and culture experiences, and meet-ups, inviting her community to come together and delve deeper into their work. Simone chooses venues and spaces that inspire the mind and promote restoration, and with the help of her incredible team of co-facilitators, team members, and partners, she provides a safe environment to connect with purpose and essence.
